Amber stood in silence, straining to calm her racing heart, understanding tangible evil as it swarmed through the room, threatening to swallow her in fear, dread. She recalled the dread she’d once experienced in Jonathan’s tunnels, the ghostly whispers that had raised goose bumps all over her body—she’d thought that that had been fear, that that had been dangerous, but now she knew differently. The dark here seemed to suck at her very soul, to even drain her semblance of self, forcing its way into her blood, coursing through her body. She felt sick to her stomach, not a vomiting sick, but a sickly rejection to surrounding forces, an expellation of what seemed to enter her system with every breath, a battle against internal destruction. An odd, growing shadow seemed to leach away the meager lighting, and she closed her eyes at the moment her body felt ready to crumple and wither, and then did the only thing she hoped would save her.

The release of "Amber Grey-the lost city" is getting closer... I can't even describe how excited I am for readers to dive into this adventure! I'll give bits of the story away here and there ;) I've let a couple friends read it off my laptop, and it's hilarious to wake up at 3am and find them STILL GLUED TO THE SCREEN!
